The Solent Devils are delighted to announce the return of English defenceman, Ben Lock.
Lock who is 10th in all time appearances for the Solent Devils with 162 games, 20 goals and 33 assists
Commenting on his return
“After numerous successful seasons, we need to ensure we pick up where we left off with the spring cup win and take the momentum into the league this year. All the teams will have improved, so we need to be raring to go.”

“Locky is one of the best defenceman in the league! He is a great stay at home Dman who is great in his own end, blocking shots and killing penalties! Locky has begun to contribute in the scoring charts including on the power play which has really made him invaluable to our squad.”
Lock continues
“As for me, the same as it’s been for the past 11 years, making sure we defend our own zone by clearing pucks, keeping our structure, and making quick passes our forwards can do their jobs. This team has always been built on hard work and determination. “
Looking back on the past 18 months Lock adds
“During the toughest time in my memory, we were incredibly lucky to be able to carry on playing with some level of normality in our lives. Playing in the tournament, allowed us to give back to fans who may have been suffering from Lockdown. Sport can be escapism for anyone, and for us to stream our games for free, was an incredible gesture by the club and I can’t wait to speak to our fans in person, it has been WAY too long! “
Lock continues
“Apart from playing a lot of golf and watching an endless amount of sport on the TV, It has made me more grateful to what I have and everyone around me. Being able to go out and safely enjoy myself and make the most of what Britain has to offer. “
“Speaking to my close family/friends via zoom for many months, was incredibly tough, so being able to see them now, has been a massive mental boost.”
