BENCH STAFF RETURN
As the Solent Devils continue to develop their new roster for the 2026/27 NIHL 1 South season, its important for the team to establish a stable and reliable back bone. With that, the Solent Devils are pleased to announce the return of 3 key members of our off ice team!
Joining the squad, the Solent Devils are happy to announce the return of the following:
Bench Coach Mark Duffy returns to back the boys!
Last season saw Duffy call time on his ice hockey playing career but he is only just getting started in his coaching endevours!
This season will be Duffy’s second full season as dedicated Bench Coach! He has developed from on-ice teammate to bench support and has helped the team stay focused and perform their best, offering a different angle of support and ideas to coinside with the Head Coach (Alex Murray).
Team Medic Berni Martin brings the edge!
In addition, Berni Martin from McTimoney Chiropractic re-joins the team as Team Medic to aid the team in injury recovery and prevention!
Last season, Berni juggled the teams injuries and helped provide timelines and plans to help the boys get back on the ice! She also adapted to learning new injury profiles with the additions of other players later in the season.
Equipment Manager Ben Powell keeps the team in order!
Ben Powell returns joins the team as their equipment manager for his third season on the Devils bench! Powell repairs, prepares and maintains the teams many pieces of equipment from waterbottles to helmets, sticks and skates to allow the team to maintain focus on the game and performing their best!
