HUTCHISON ANSWERS THE CALL
The Solent Devils continue to build their brand new roster for the start of the 2026/27 NIHL 1 season tonight with the announcement of their 18th squad member!
Forward Connor Hutchison answers the call, joining the squad to assist the team when he is needed in September!
The 2025/26 season saw Hutchison become an unsung hero, stepping up and playing bigger minutes in a variety of playing positions. Connor stepped up as a defenceman after the team’s spell of injuries and became a stable back-bone night in and night out, even chipping in offensively and guiding the younger players on the team.
At the end of last season, Hutchison announced that he will be stepping back from hockey to focus on his family commitments. After discussions, this season, Connor rises to the occassion and challenges ahead, signing on to help the team in a reduced role.

After signing, we sat down with Connor Hutchison,
What are your thoughts on returning to the Solent Devils for the 2026/27 season?
It was a tough decision that I have made this summer and I’ve spoke to Alex a lot and we’ve come to a decision that I will be coming back on a part time basis to help out!
Last season was a challenging one, one which saw you answer the call and become a flexible player playing multiple positions during the year. What aspects are you planning to take from last season to build on for your time this upcoming season?
Last year was very challenging and a tough season with a lot of injury’s and I stepped up into the role of playing D for the second half of the year which I actually really enjoyed!
My goals for this upcoming season is just to help out as much as I can!
Finally, What is your message to the Solent Devils fans?
You might not see me every week but when I’m around you’ll definitely notice me giving 100%, like you fans do every week!
