CAPTAIN CALUMN COLLECTS THE “C”

Today, the Solent Devils are announce the 5th captain in Devils history and the re-signing of veteran defenceman #44 Calumn Perella-Fox!
Perella-Fox returns to the club for after a season which saw him collect 12 points in 27 regular season games alongside 4 playoff appearances.
Perella-Fox is no stranger to a leadership role having been captain of his team as a junior as well as being a staple in the Devils locker room. Last season also saw Calumn step in as role of captain during previous captain Alex Cole’s mid-season injury.
Speaking on his return, Calumn said this,
Feels great! I didn’t give it a second thought! I was always coming back, the team, the lads and the fans are like a second family to me. I’m excited about getting back on the ice & hopefully we can bring some silverware back this year.
We asked Calumn, “How do you feel being named the 5th club captain in Solent Devils history?” Perella-Fox said the following,
It’s a massive privilege and means a lot to be asked. I’m very excited to take it on. I got a taste of it when I stepped in as interim captain last season for a few games. I’m very much a team first guy and give everything on the ice. I’m looking forward to leading the team next season with this intensity.
At the Solent Devils presentation evening, Calumn Perella-Fox recieved the player’s player award. When asked about what this means to him, he said:
Receiving players player is an award everyone wants. Getting the recognition from the lads is a massive backing and always such a great trophy to receive.
Head Coach Alex Murray had this to say about his latest addition to the 2024-25 roster,
Im delighted to be able to appoint Calumn as club Captain and have him re-sign for the club.
Calumn is the glue that holds this team together. He is the players choice and a natural born leader in our dressing room. The entire team look to Calumn for motivation, leadership and he ensures everyone is giving their all at practise and games. Over recent years Calumn has led without the need of a letter on his jersey and now he gets the reward he deserves.
Speaking on his new partnership of Coach and Captain, Murray said,
I can’t wait to work with Cal as we look to integrate this new generation of Solent players in with the old guard.
Calumn Perella-Fox will wear #44 for the club with “C” on the front of his jersey for the 2024-25 season. Calumn’s Jersey will be owned and loaned by Jan and Paul Baverstock.
