Tonight, the Solent Devils continue to add to their competitive 2025/26 roster by announcing another player!

This time around, the Solent Devils add with the re-signing of their primary Starting Goaltender… #92 Aaron Taylor!

The 2024/25 season was Taylor’s second as the Devils main Goaltender and it saw him step up to support the team to push for silverware, putting up career highs in games played as well as his statistics!

Taylor put up an impressive .926 save percentage in his 25 starts with a Goals Against Average of 2.68!
Aaron shut the door on 771 shots out of the 833 shots he faced in his 1,387 minutes and 31 seconds played!
This includes 2 shutouts!

Taylor also topped the league charts finishing 4th in the league in netminder save percentage!

Aaron did not shy away in big moments!
Taylor saved 150 out of the 164 shots he faced in the Devils cup run and in the Playoffs he put up a .924 save percentage in the 2 games with a shutout in game 1 of the Quarter Finals!

Now, Taylor re-joins Solent to continue building on the progress made last season!

We sat down with Aaron to ask him a few questions regarding his re-signing and ahead of the 2025/26 season:

What are your thoughts on being back with the Solent Devils for the 2025/26 season and what made you choose to re-sign with the Devils?

I’m really excited to be back this year, it wouldn’t feel right to be playing anywhere else; both the fans and boys are part of my extended family!

When asked about his highlight from the past season, Taylor said:

There was a lot of great moments from last year however I really enjoyed the win against Streatham on our Christmas Jersey Theme Night!
It was a great win and we got to skate with the fans afterwards to celebrate.

We asked Aaron “What’s something you learned last season that you plan to implement into your game come September?”

The league schedule got a little more intense last season, so I have been taking my pre-season training a little more seriously this year.

Building off of this, we asked Taylor what his personal focus is for the upcoming 2025/26 season:

My focus every year is to be as consistent as possible for the team,
my numbers last year were better than the season before, so hopefully I can stay on that trajectory.

At the Solent Devils Presentation Evening 2025, Aaron Taylor picked up 2 Awards!
The Players Player Award and the Supporters Club Player of the Season Award!

Anyone at the presentation evening will know how much it meant to me as I got a bit emotional, however for those that weren’t there, thank you and it’s a pleasure to have the opportunity to represent such an incredible club with great people on and off the ice!

Finally, Taylor concluded with a special message to the fans!

The fans are amazing, all the boys constantly talk about doing our utmost to pay them back for the support they show!
I seem to have my own little fan club down by the cafe stand that give me a renewed spirit every time I let one in that I’d want back.

We all want something shiny this upcoming season to pay the fans back for their continued support and as long as we keep coming close, I’m positive we will achieve that soon.

Aaron Taylor will continue to wear #92 for the Solent Devils in the 2025/26 season.

What are your thoughts on being back with Solent for the 2025/26 season and what made you choose the Devils?

I’m very excited to be back with Solent for the 2025/26 season!
It’s hard to say just one thing that made me come back when there’s so many.
Ultimately it’s the most I’ve ever enjoyed a hockey season and I’d put it down to that for the most part!

When asked “Last season was your first with the team, how did you find your first season with the Devils?” Harcup said:

I’m happy with the season I had, but I do expect a lot more from myself and I think that there’s a lot more to give this upcoming season.

Building off of this, we asked Harry what his personal highlight or favourite moment was from the last season:

My highlight of the season would be getting to the Cup Final!
Although we just fell short, we went against all odds to get there and that journey was pretty special!

My focus for the new season is, and will always be to win some silverware!
I will also be focusing on being more impactful in the game myself and look to improve on what I started last season.

The Devils supporters are incredible!
Turning up week in, week out, it really goes a long way in helping us go the extra mile and that extra gear on the ice.

Solent Devils 2025/26 Player Signing – Calumn Perella-Fox

CAPTAIN CALUMN RE-SIGNS

Tonight, the Solent Devils continue to build their squad for the upcoming 2025/26 season!

This time around the Devils add leadership with the return of Captain and Defenceman Calumn Perella-Fox!

After a successful 2024/25 season which saw him collect the “C”, becoming the clubs 5th franchise captain. Calumn now looks to return to Solent to build off of last seasons success and momentum.

Perella-Fox will be joining the team for his 9 senior season with the Devils this September.
His 2024/25 season saw him help to shut the door, keeping pucks out of the defensive zone and moving them into the offensive zone. He lead from the back end which saw the Devils finish 4th in goals allowed across the league with the 3rd best penalty kill only missing the top team by 0.16%. On top of this, the team finished 2nd in goals allowed in the Britton Cup games!

We sat down with Calumn to ask him a few questions ahead of the 2025/26 season:

What are your thoughts on being back with Solent for the 2025/26 season?

I’m really excited to be back for another season with the Devils. It’s a great group of lads and a club I’ve loved being a part of for a long time now.
Signing back was an easy decision—we’ve got unfinished business and I want to be part of that push. We’ve built something special here, and I’m looking forward to getting going again!

When asked “Last season was your first as captain of the club, how did you find your first season wearing the C?” Perella-Fox said:

It was a huge honour to be given the C last year! It was a new challenge, but one I really enjoyed. I learned a lot—whether it was leading in the dressing room, staying positive through tough spells, or just setting the standard on the ice. I had great support from the boys which made it easier, and it’s something I’m proud of and looking to keep building on this year.

Building off of this, we asked Calumn what his personal highlight or favourite moment was from last season:

There were a lot of memorable moments, but making it to the Britton Cup Final and seeing how hard the boys worked to get there stands out. The way we battled through that semi-final weekend and the support we had from the fans was unreal! It showed the heart of this team. I’ve learned that every shift, every play matters—and I’ll take that mindset into every game this season.

At the recent 2025 Solent Devils presentation evening, Calumn was awarded the Defenceman of the Year award. This is what he had to say regarding this moment.

Winning Defenceman of the Year meant a lot to me.
It’s always a great feeling to have your efforts recognised, especially in a team full of quality players who’ve all stepped up this season.
I’ve just tried to be solid and lead by example each game, so to get that award was a real honour.

Discussing his focus for the upcoming season, the Captain added,

The focus is simple—consistency, intensity, and bringing silverware back to Solent!
We want to be a team that competes at the highest level every single week, and that starts with the work we put in from day one.
Personally, I want to lead by example and help push this team to another level.

Finally, Calumn wrapped up with a message to you, the Solent Devils fans,

Our fans are the heartbeat of this club. Whether it’s a packed rink at home or a long trip on the road, they’re always there making noise and showing their support. That energy gives us the extra push when we need it most. Knowing they’re behind us makes you want to give that little bit more every shift.

Thank you for sticking with us through everything last season. We felt your support every step of the way. We’ve got unfinished business, and we’re coming back hungry. So rest up, enjoy the summer, and we’ll see you in September—louder than ever!

Calumn Perella-Fox will continue to wear #44 for the Solent Devils!

Solent Devils 2025/26 Player Signing – Liam Coleman

LIAM TO LIGHT THE LAMP

Tonight the Solent Devils are very excited to announce their second player signing for the upcoming 2025/26 season!

The Solent Devils keep the ball rolling with the re-signing of Clutch Scoring Forward Liam Coleman!

After a successful 2024/25 season which saw Coleman finish 3rd in the league for game winning goals and 2nd on the team in points, Liam now looks to re-join the south coast team to push again for silverware!

Coleman will be joining the team for his 4th season in September. His 2024/25 season saw him finish 2nd on the team in points with 46 points in just 29 regular season games! This was made up of 23 goals and 23 assists.

Coleman was also a key contributor when it mattered most, picking up 3 points across the 2 Solent Devils Playoff Games (1 goal 2 assists) and leading the team during their Britton Cup run with 7 points in just 4 games, made up from 6 goals and an assist!

We interviewed Coleman to get an insight into his thoughts on last season, re-signing with the Devils and his plans for the upcoming season:

You finished second on the Solent Devils in team scoring, what aspects of your game do you believe contributed most to this success?

I’d say my ability to read the game contributes a lot to my points output, knowing the spaces I need to occupy to give myself the best chances of scoring and creating those chances.

Liam begun last season closer to home with the new Swindon Wildcats 2 team before deciding to return to his former club in the Solent Devils. Reflecting on this Coleman said,

Returning for me was a no brainer, although not the closest team to me, I feel at home with Solent. I think it was the best suit to me and gets the best out of me as a player.

Building from this we discussed the Team Dynamic and Chemistry with him reuniting with former teammates in Buckle, Penny and Banner last season and how they impacted his and the teams performance,

It was great to play along side them again finally.
I think when hopping into a team with familiar faces, it helps settle any nerves or worries, allows us all to play freely and get the best out of ourselves.

Looking to the 2025/26 season, we asked Coleman about his personal goals and how he plans to have an impact on the teams overall success.

My personal goals for the year are just to try to better myself from the last season.
For the coming season, hopefully I’ll continue scoring some important goals for the team but this time with a trophy at the end of the campaign!

Finally, Liam concluded with a message to the fans,

Playing in front of the Devils fans is awesome, definitely spurs me on as a player when they’re doing their thing, being loud.
Hopefully next season we can provide them better home performances and give them lots to shout about!

What are your thoughts on being back for the 2025/26 season,

I’m delighted to be back at Solent as head coach for another season.
I’m really excited and focused on the challenge ahead and we’ve already begun work on how we can continue to remain competitive at the NIHL 1 level.

We asked Coach Murray what his highlight was from the 2024/25 season, to which he said,

Last season, was such a refreshing change for me and the team.
It brought renewed energy and something a little different which I think helped us all.
The new players brought fresh life to an ageing core and it’s allowed us to integrate several players into our system whilst still remaining competitive!
Making the cup final was a particular high point of our season and this year, we will looking to get our hands on a trophy!

What is your focus for the upcoming season?

Next season we will continue to develop our younger players as they look to take on more responsibilities, I’m really pleased with how they are performing and I will be looking to add more youthful depth into our NIHL 2 team to allow for further progression.
We will be looking to have a similar squad this season to last so we want to remain competitive, competing for trophies.

When asked how the team will look for the 2025/26 season, Murray said:

The team is shaping up well with lots of returnees and hopefully a few new faces to go along with them.
