- Kieran Annis
- 139 lbs
The 26 year old has spent his hole senior career on the island having played the previous 9 years in the Wightlink organisation. The majority of that time was spent with the Raiders including winning the league title in 2011. Upon signing with Solent Annis spoke of his excitement at finding a new team
“I’m looking forward to making a fresh start and joining up with some old teammates. The club has always seemed very close knit from the outside and I’m excited to be joining.
I have enjoyed seeing how this team has grown the last few seasons and it’s exciting to be apart of that. Logistically for me as well it was a no brainer, being on the Isle of Wight.”
Head coach Alex Murray has spoken of the versatility Annis will bring to Solent
“I have known Kieran for around 10 years, and so I’m delighted to be able to bring someone I know and trust to the organisation. Keiran is versatile and able to to play as a forward and a defenceman. Annis has great composure and moves the puck well, which will help keep possession in our small rink. His experience on playing will also be of great value and I am looking forward to Keiran helping us achieve our goals this season”
The Isle of Wight born player has spoke of his goals for the season as well as what he hopes the team can achieve
“I wouldn’t mind scoring a few more goals, although I’m sure most of us think that, I just want to contribute to the team in any way I can, whatever defensively or offensively. We’ve got to be aiming towards the top end of the league this season, I think the squad being assembled has the tools to do it as well.”
Annis will wear the number 13 jersey for the 2017/18 campaign with Solent.
