Solent's alternate captain will return for his 3rd season with the Devils having signed from Oxford City Stars in 2015. Wild has iced 61 times in the last two seasons scoring 10 goals and adding 10 assist. During his time with the Devils, the 27 year old has picked up players player and best defenceman at the end of season awards evening.
Speaking on returning to Solent, Wild has spoke of the reasons behind signing " I’m really looking forward to it. Solent is where I started playing as a junior and being back at the club always feels right. I’ve enjoyed the last two years, there is a great atmosphere in the team and I’m looking forward to being back on the ice. This will be my 3rd season with Solent and the progression I’ve seen in the club over the last few years has been excellent. The team is pretty much the same as last year so I’m keen to be a part of that continued development."
Wild continued, outlining his and the teams goals for the season "Moving to defence last season was a learning curve but towards the end of the season I felt a lot more comfortable, I want to continue that progression and become more of a threat with scoring chances. I feel that the new league structure will give us an opportunity to push for a top position and we have the team to do that.
Upon securing Wild, head coach Alex Murray has spoken of his delight at the returning Oxford born player " Mason is a big signing for us at this stage of the summer. He will be on of the top defenceman in the league an add to our strong defensive core. He has proven to be a reliable and dependable player in the NIHL 1, so should flourish in the newly reformed NIHL 2. I am
expecting Mason to continue to contribute offensively whilst being solid in defence."
Wild will continue to wear number #41 for the Devils and is actively looking for a sponsor. For more information on how to be Masons sponsor please contact email@example.com
