The best way to keep up to date with Solent Devils

Tull Signs from Racers

1 year ago By Alex Murray

Tonight the Solent Devils have signed Luke Tull From the London Racers.

Tull started out at a Solent & Gosport Devils Junior club before moving to Bracknell and then Guildford, which is where he spent most of his junior career. His first taste of senior hockey came in 2011 when he iced 18 times for the Wightlink Tigers. He first broke into the Devils in 2013 where he iced 20 times whilst on a two way with the Tigers. Last season the Southampton born defenceman followed former Devil Drew Campbell to the Racers.

But now Tull is happy to be back where it all began; "I am happy to be back at the club I started playing for as a kid, I am looking forward to the up and coming season, and the challenges I will face personally and as part of the team. The Devils are always pushing every season to grow as a team, there effort to do this with younger players is something I want to be a part of".

Tull continued by adding he is looking to establish him self in NIHL 1 following several years in division 2 "I feel like the move up to NIHL 1 will push my ability as I haven’t played at this level for a while, but I feel with time and effort I will be able to handle the step up. I want to push myself, work harder, whilst striving to achieve personal and team goals with the Devils".

Head Coach Alex Murray has spoken on the signing of Luke Tull "I've known Luke since he was a young kid in the junior system. I've taught him from a very young age, and Luke has a mature head. Last season we struggled again with injuries and the defensive core really suffered. This season I want to have a bigger squad of players to be able to cope with the demands of this league. Tully will bring grit an energy to the defensive unit, and he knows he has to step up his game in order to be successful at this level. I am confident that with guidance and hard work, this can be achieved and we will start to see this promising player reach his potential".

Luke will return to Solent wearing the number #25 jersey. If you would like to sponsor Luke or any of the other Devils, please contact
