Chico was apart of the championship winning side back in 2012, and has gone on to establish himself as the starting netminder under Alex Murray's regime. Last season, the Guernsey born stopper iced 32 times with a 92% save average, whilst earning Coaches Player at the end of season awards. After signing for Solent, Cole spoke about his return "I feel very positive about returning to Solent for my 7th season and hopefully the club can keep progressing and become a stable club in the NIHL 1. There a few things that made me return one of the main ones is family as they mean everything to me and my hockey career".
The 23 year old continued commenting on his accolade at the awards evening "it feels good to pick up coaches player, it means that the coach can see my work ethic on and off the ice. My own goals for every season are set very high as I want to achieve more and more, but my main goal for this season is a team goal which is to be within the top half of the table".
Head Coach Alex Murray has spoken on his latest signing "I had several netminders contact me over the summer, however there was only one stopper I wanted for Solent. Chico is a key component in the core of my team, he, along with his brother, are the leaders of my team on and off the ice. Chico is a true professional who takes his role within the team very seriously. He leads with his performances and takes the team to another level. I will be looking for Chico to improve on his performances next season. There is a lot of pressure on him and he must now take it to the next level".
