The former Slough junior had spells at Guildford and Basingstoke respectively before returning home to Slough where he has iced for the senior side the past two seasons. Whilst captaining the U18s last season, the rink closure provided Chris the opportunity to skate with the Devils. He was quickly signed on a two way, and laced up with Solent on two occasions in the NIHL 1 during 2017.
Head coach Alex Murray has mentioned it was Chris's hard work and determination that has seen him sign the youngster "Chris is a dying breed of young brits. He came into the team very humble, understood his role within the team and worked his socks off in practise. It became clear very quickly that Chris had a very good understanding of the game and fitted into most team scenarios quickly. When I spoke to Chris over the summer I thought it would be unlikely that he would want to return seeing as ourselves and Slough were in the same league, but I'm delighted he has chosen Solent to continue his development. I like to think I have a good track record over the last few years of developing young brits and seeing them progress onto higher levels, and that's what I expect Chris to be aiming for."
Speaking on signing for Solent the 17 year old has spoken of his delight way signing "I feel really excited about signing for Solent. I'm looking forward to playing for a team with such a wealth of knowledge and experience. I am grateful to the team and Alex Murray for letting me train with them while there was no ice at Slough last year. Unfortunately, due to fixture clashes I didn't get a chance to play much but still enjoyed every minute of it, and am looking forward to the coming season.
I chose Solent because of the great team atmosphere and work ethic. From day one, I felt part of the team."
The French born forward went on to mention his goals for the season "I want to strengthen all aspects of my game as far as I can and enjoy it. At Solent I want the team to achieve as much as we can, and keep pushing ourselves onto bigger and better things."
Hocquigny will wear the number #93 jersey and is actively looking for a sponsor. If you are interested in sponsoring Chris, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
