British forward Facey returns to Solent

Today the Solent Devils are delighted to secure last seasons Top Points Scorer Richard Facey.

The Portsmouth born forward recorded 14 goals and 27 assist, totalling 41 points from 35 games last season and returns for his second season with the Devils.

Facey started his hockey career as a Solent & Gosport junior and is one of the leading points scorers in the history of the junior club. Speaking upon his return the 27 year old forward spoke of the reason s
he returned to the Gosport Arena "I'm excited to be back playing for the Devils. I think with the team that Alex has put together we can be competitive on a nightly basis. I enjoyed last season and want to be involved in the continued success of the club. I think that we have some exciting young players and I know that Alex knows how to build a competitive team at this level."

Facey continues by stating he is not only going to involved in the Devils this year but the Junior club also "As this Is where I started playing I am also looking forward to helping the coaches in the junior club and I hope to be able to be involved with helping young players at the club to develop."

Head Coach Alex Murray has spoken of his delight of signing Facey "Richard is a close friend of mine and to have him back in a Devils jersey is a testament to the strides the clubs are making these past few years. Facey is a big game player and a role model for my young squad. He is a team first guy and the player the team looks to during crucial moments of the game."

Facey will once again be an alternate captain for Solent and will continue to wear his former junior number #28. Information regarding a pre season friendly will be release shortly as well as a revised fixture list. Please keep a look out on all Solent Devils social media platforms for details.
